I heard a song by Disturbed called Land of Confusion. It’s a remake of the song of the same title recorded in the 80’s by Genesis. The original has long been one of my favorites for years. When I heard the remake, I instantly enjoyed it.
As I listened, I was inspired to create a music video. I’m a huge fan of the Star Wars saga and thought that this song could be visually interpreted using the visuals from Revenge of the Sith. The confusion and conflict sung in the song would easily parallel the fall or Anakin Skywalker, and the rise of the Galactic Empire. So I’ve now created my first “fan film” of sorts.
An Arlington high school sports booster club hires me each year to produce a highlight reel for their baseball season. Each DVD contains a highlight reel for the Freshmen, JV and Varsity teams as well as interviews with the coaching staff. Also included are a tribute to the graduating seniors that contains a series of messages recorded by parents mixed with childhood photos of each senior.
One of the challenges with this type of production is that the client can not afford to have me shoot all the elements. At most, I get to shoot at one game for each team. Therefore I have to clean up and use footage that is shot by students or parents in lost of cases. So far though, the clients have been very happy with the DVDs.
I’ve included here, the JV highlight reel from 2007.
EHL has done a few radio commercials over the years. I recently engineered this one which they will be running nationally in spring and summer of 2008.
The first one is the 60 second version, the next one is the 30 second version.
For Equal Health & Life we wanted to record a short introductory sales message to be played for prospective clients prior to be connected with a live sales representative. This was written by the President and CEO and recorded and engineered by me.
EAH was launching a new campaign in which they were branding their company as the hero for health benefit troubles. Central to this campaign was EA Man. EA Man was designed as a superhero who combated the hight costs associated with medical benefits. His weapon was the ring of protection. “It’s the Power of the Ring”.
To introduce this character and campaign, I created a short “Batman-ish” movie that was shown at the Christmas party that year. It also played on the website for a few months.
EAH had me video introductions for each of the speakers that were speaking at their Christmas party event. This event contained many video elements. Below are the speaker intros. The event introduction video can be found here.
Central Baptist Church in Round Rock, Texas asked me to create a promotional video to introduce their building campaign. They wanted the video to be high impact and incorporate the building campaign logo and 3D models of the new building. This video was designed to cast the vision of building a new worship center and induce fund-raising.
CSI Printing, located in Austin, Texas hired me to create a virtual tour* of their printing company. This was to be a walk-through tour starting at the front desk and proceeding through every department and ending up at the warehouse.
*Note: The tour currently found on their website is NOT the video I did for them.
